Now these patches at the moment basically just edit the Windows host file for you. I have also did some patching work with some of adobes CACHE files as I did with the CS4 release to prevent adobe master collection components from asking for a serial number every time a product is opened. Normally this would happen if you installed the trial with a serial number initially, you should always install as a trial then enter the serial number after you run my patch. If you don’t my patch will make you enter a serial number again anyway to prevent the error mentioned. The MacOSX script will just edit the host file but so far this is all that is needed with both products it prevents the activation from reaching adobe’s servers. Now with windows some .dll patching may come into play later on if I see people are having problems with certain products of the master collection but would like not to patch any .dll thus every time a product of the master collection is updated example….. Acrobat in the CS4 collection it will not work right after a product update needing an updated patch. If I can avoid any .dll patching you will be able to run the product and update without a issue hopefully.
